We are proud to be an eco-friendly coworking space! Confluence is a Gold-certified Lafayette Green Business and works closely with Boulder County Partners for a Clean Environment (PACE).
Sustainability efforts are concentrated in four key areas:
Alternative Transportation - In 2018, Confluence installed a charging station for electric vehicles and offers discounted charging to members. Confluence provides bike racks for members and is located adjacent to the RTD Park & Ride station that hosts routes to Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Erie, Longmont, and Louisville. Members are eligible for a 50% discount on a $100 MyRide pre-loaded fare pass while supplies last. View our full commute guide to Confluence and Lafayette here.

Energy Efficiency - The Confluence workspace features three PV solar arrays, electric hot water heating, and a wind turbine. Office lighting is 100% LED with occupancy sensors in the restrooms. High-efficiency HVAC equipment was recently installed and thermostats are programmed based on occupancy.
Waste Stream Diversion - Receptacles for single stream recycling and paper composting are readily accessible in the workspace, kitchen, and conference rooms. Prominent signage reminds members what items can be diverted from the landfill. Confluence purchases post-recycled paper products for kitchen and restrooms, and members are encouraged to use the non-disposable plates, bowls, and silverware provided rather than paper and plastic.
Efficient Water Usage - Confluence maintains limited, low-water landscaping, including no grass or turf. High-efficiency aerators have been installed on restroom faucets and in 2020 we selected efficient replacement toilets.
Confluence is a presenting sponsor for the Run for the Sun 5k family road race, an event that serves to educate participants on Lafayette’s coal-to-solar history and promote solar PV installations.
Through formal and informal engagement of our community, Confluence commits to maintaining awareness and promoting a positive dialog around environmental sustainability. We welcome input and commit to revisiting our actions and opportunities on an ongoing basis in the standard course of managing Confluence operations.

Confluence is excited to share a reciprocal membership with Commuting Solutions, a regional nonprofit dedicated to delivering innovative transportation options that connect commuters to their workplaces, businesses to their employees, and residents to their communities. We value the work Commuting Solutions is doing to provide progressive, flexible and sustainable transportation solutions that also reduce emissions and mitigate the impacts of climate change. Their work and values are well-aligned with our own efforts to provide alternative transportation infrastructure and access to our members. We look forward to supporting their advocacy.
