OUR STORY
What began as a small, 750 square foot coworking space has grown into a thriving community of members representing a range of professions in a 8,000 square foot building featuring private office space, open-plan workspace, meeting rooms, phone booths, event space, and more.
Meet the Team
Tom, Founder and GM
Tom and Kristin Hardie launched Lafayette’s first coworking space, Confluence Small Business Collective, in 2014.
Having worked from home themselves, they understood how isolating and challenging it could be, and knew Lafayette needed a community hub for people who shared their work-from-home challenge.
Tom works for the Boulder County Office of Sustainability, Climate Action, and Resilience as a Business Sustainability Advisor. He’s active in the Lafayette community and spends a lot of time outdoors with his family.
Kira, Community Manager
Kira joined the Confluence team in 2017, and is passionate about building communities and creating connections.
Kira will welcome you to the space by providing a tour, answering questions about membership options, and will get you comfortably settled for your first day of coworking. And yes - if the restrooms are out of toilet paper or the printer is jammed, she’ll take care of that too.
She would love to meet you!
Let’s Connect…
Kristen, Community Coordinator
Originally from upstate New York, Kristen has lived in Colorado since 1999, and in Lafayette since 2013. She worked for an independent publishing company for 21 years, and when the company sold to Macmillan Publishing in NYC she decided to look for something more grounded in the community of Lafayette. She found the perfect fit at Confluence in 2026.
When not working she is most likely helping to run a local senior animal rescue (Old Dogs, New Digs), traveling the world and adding to her list of 23 countries she has visited, reading a good book, or out on some sort of adventure. If you ever want to play some trivia at a local brewery, or go see the new A24 film, make sure to let her know!
